Interview Questions

1.   What are your strengths?

I would say my biggest strength would be communication one on one. I feel as if I have discovered that I am good at resolving conflicts between individuals. This has shown throughout my pom career off the field. Being a captain takes leadership and dedication not only to the sport but to every individual on that team and this requires good team chemistry, to perform well.

3.   Where do you see yourself in five years?

In five years I see myself about to graduate from the University of Alabama, getting ready to start my next life chapter in texas as a speech pathologist. I will have a position set in place and an apartment in downtown Houston.

4.   What can you offer us that someone else can not?

I have experience in babysitting and I also have experience at Aqua-Tots swim school teaching special needs children how to swim. This opportunity has given me experience that not all people have. This will make me more experienced in this position.

10.   What motivates you?

The idea of success motivates me. Success is not given, it is earned. This motivates me because the harder I work the more that I will achieve. Success is defined to me as being happy due to personal work and achievement. This can only be achieved by hard work.

11.   Who do you look up to/who is your mentor?

I look up to my father tremendously. He is a very successful man who studied at Boston University and Harvard. I know that he is successful only because of his upbringing. He worked himself up to where he is now. He has always taught me that I need to work for what I want.

13.   How do you handle pressure/stress?

Handling stress is something that I have struggled with for a long time. I learned how to manage my stress when I took on an intense workload last year. Stressing about little things is not going to get the work done or do anything good for me. I had realized this when my grades started to drop in the slightest. I then made a shift in my thinking and work ethic, realizing that stress is nothing to worry over, it means I am working toward success.

16.   What are your pet peeves?

When people don’t treat others how they wish to be treated. In the end, we are all the same and are all longing for the same idea mostly. We should not be mean or rude to each other because of jealousy or any other reason. There is no reason to bring others down based on your own insecurities.

18.   What would your previous boss/supervisor say your strongest point is?

I have received an award for my communication and handling of special needs children at my workplace. I have always worked my hardest to make sure that the kids are having fun and learning at the same time. I love making these kids happy and teaching at the same time, this has never been a struggle for me, but there is always room for improvement on everything that you do.

23.   What kind of work do you enjoy the most?

I love working with children. This is not only because of my love of kids but I love helping people and the feeling of teaching and helping someone understand. I am good at understanding how they think and helping them in their best interests.

24.   How do you deal with conflict?

I try not to involve myself in conflict because it causes unnecessary drama and conflict between people. I try to resolve it without disregarding the feelings of others. I try to figure out a solution that will benefit both sides without it being one-sided.
